MSW Intern

Lori Rivera joined Open Table as a MSW intern in the fall of 2023.  She has four years of experience working in early education, including Phonics and Montessori methods. In her previous internship, Lori worked in a free clinic, as an interpreter and a social worker for the uninsured and refugee population of Northern Virginia. She presently works as a social media manager for a disaster restoration and cleaning company.

Lori is currently getting her Masters of Social Work from George Mason University. She aspires to use her degree to work with immigrant children and  families, and hopes to facilitate the reunification process.

She will be supporting the Open Table team with implementation nationally during her internship and will serve on both Network Tables and Core Tables.

Lori has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a Minor in Spanish from Liberty University. She is fluent in both English and Spanish, having spent 18 years in Puerto Rico. Lori enjoys rock climbing, iced coffees and spending time with her goldendoodle, Charlie.
